Our resident Reed has been living here for nine months and loves visiting with the other residents, helping wherever he can. You will see him asking people if they need anything or if they need help, which is how he’s been his entire life—from raising his little brother to having his own family. He has always been known as a natural caregiver who is easygoing and loves to joke and laugh. He has also always been very social.

In his younger years, he was a commercial fisherman and bought his first commercial boat by the time he was 16 years old. Amazingly, he also had learned to fly by this age as well. He loved it so much he went to work for Air America, and he was so good that the government asked him to fly for them, so he flew goods into Vietnam and the surrounding area during the Vietnam War. After this, he flew for several companies and then became a Simulator Instructor for Saudi Arabian Airlines. He then came back to Seattle and was a Simulator Instructor for Alaska Airlines. He finally went to work for Boeing until he retired. This led him to Chelan and there he decided to run a boat at Lake Chelan part-time, which everyone knows as The Lady of The Lake.

What an interesting life Reed has had so far! We’re so pleased to get to share our life with him here and love to learn about his life and travels. Thank you, Reed, for being a part of our community.
