Helen is excited to be part of the Fieldstone team! She has always been drawn to senior citizens and remembers being in grade school where they frequently went to visit a nursing home. She developed friendships with the residents and has always enjoyed spending time with them.

Helen graduated from Tigard High and went on to attend Oregon State University. While doing a research project for a psychology class, she discovered Music Therapy, which combines her interests in music, science, and psychology. She transferred to Willamette University and graduated with a BA in Music Therapy. Upon completing her internship in Pennsylvania, she returned home to Oregon to begin her healthcare career as an Activity Director in a skilled nursing home for 16 years. There she developed a passion for working with those affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease. She completed her Executive Director Certification in 2017 and has since been an ED for Memory Care Communities. Helen has been involved with the Alzheimer’s Association’s Portland Walk for the Cure for over 15 years and continues to develop fundraising relationships and promote staff, family, and resident involvement in the event.

In her free time, Helen enjoys Whale Watching, Jeeping, Kayaking, Camping, Fishing, and being at the beach. She volunteers for Whale Research Eco Excursions and sometimes leads groups as a naturalist for whale watching, tide pooling, and kayaking trips. She also enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her 1-year-old niece, Alison. She also loves to geek out over anything Star Wars or Lord of the Rings and loves attending comic-cons.
